Young Women's Sweatshop

The Young Women of our ward are fund raising for EFY, so one project is to make necklaces, they took orders and on Wednesday evening we made them. All three of my daughters were involved so I helped out as well, it was lovely to spend some time with the Young Women and their leaders. I was surprised that we got them all done and bagged in about an hour.

Messing about on the river

After the excitment of the Royal wedding, my husband, eldest son and almost daughter in law took a trip to Wareham on Saturday. The weather was nice while we were there we did a little bit of shopping in a beautiful fabric shop on the main street. We had fish and chips by the river then had a little boat trip before our parking time was up. When I titled this blog messing about on the river that was my son who although he was sat at the front of the boat going up the river insisted on getting to the back of the boat which included going over/past me to drive back down the river. Thank goodness no-one was filming it!!!!!
Nonetheless I can't wait until we go back again with the girl's and explore more of the town but I will be more organised about where everyone sits in the boat next time. Live and learn.

I love when a name fits a job

If I had a fabric shop it would be like the one in Wareham

Royal Wedding Fever

Everyone was so excited about the Royal Wedding in New York it got me excited, so we made a party of it and invited some friends over and had a Royal Wedding Lunch. As we were away the week before I left it a little late to shop and the shops were totally sold out of scones (after I'd bought the last ones), clotted cream and bunting. Good job I already had flags and Chris found extra thick double cream at the one shop I hadn't been to. Well done Waitrose.

Farewell for now New York, New York!

After checking out and checking our luggage we had the most wonderful breakfast at the Astro Resturant, so busy, so popular and highly recommended. Our hotel was in Midtown and very well located, we walked down via FAO Schwartz, famous toy shop full of adults I have to say, to Central Park. We went East to West and saw the Manhattan temple then caught the subway back to Times Square for more T-shirt shopping. You can not go to New York and not get an "I heart New York" T-shirt, I think its against the law or something. We went to the Natural History Museum for the afternoon always a treat. We had supper back near the hotel at a fantastic place called "Pazza Notte" the menu was great I wish we'd found it on the first day really but this day was the first day we were all hungry at the correct times and finished our food. We were on American time just in time to go home!!!
Our driver came for us at 7.45p.m. and we flew home from Newark. We loved the break but although we tried hard to cram everything in, we still have a lot of things to see and do, so there will have to be a next time I think. Are we sad about that? No we are not, we love New York!
