The whole of this area is used as fabulous backdrops for films, it does not surprise me as it is so beautiful here and round every corner is a photo opportunity. San Gimignano and Florence were the backdrops in the film 'Tea with Mussolini' Again it was a hot day as we went from ice-cream shop to drink shop trying to cool down. We had a meal in a little cafe, well on the street outside it and a man in the next window along which turned out to be part of our cafe as well was setting up a sound system then put some music on and it was quite nice atmospheric Italian music but then he started to sing along with it into the microphone and we realised he was going to be serenading us all evening. Well he wasn't very good but the worst part was that Anastasia, Xenia and I got the giggles and I could NOT stop. We snorted and cried all through our meal and could not get away quick enough it was so embarassing. We have video evidence locked away somewhere but there is a picture of our serenader at the end of this blog entry. I am getting the giggles just thinking about it!
