Monday....

Armed with postcodes and a sat nav we headed off to our favourite craft and book stores for a day of browsing and inspiration visiting Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Barnes & Noble. They have a great system of coupons that you can get up on screen on your phone from their web-site and the cashier scans the bar code off your phone, you don't even have to print things off any more which is amazingly useful for us tourists.  Alexander had a late night at Uni so John barbequed the most enormous steaks I have ever seen and we had a lovely meal together. I only had a half a steak and just about managed it but it was delicious. It felt a little bit strange sending John outside to barbeque in the freezing cold but he said he was used to it. Chris was very impressed with their barbeque.

The Main Event....

As well as being in a hurry to meet my new baby grandson, this visit was timed so both sets of grand parents could be at his blessing. It was a cold but sunny day a lot of the snow had melted so it seemed a little less treacherous to be out on the roads. Atticus was so good, unlike his father who when he was a baby screamed all the way through his blessing. After church the family all gathered back at the Ogden's home for a meal. It was a lovely day, with even more time to get to know the Ogden's a little better.

What jet-lag?

The night in Chicago really helped adjust our body clocks. We were able to spend the afternoon with the family and stay awake for dinner with Alexander and Kelly at a place called Charleston's. The food was delicious, highly recommended and I really did stay awake.  Until I got home of course but that is allowed.
Saturday we spent with John and Deatra who kindly took us out and about a little bit.  John and Chris visited a model shop and Deatra and I went to JoAnn Fabrics where I was in heaven. Then we went to a Mall for a while and I had the best burger I have ever tasted for lunch. We met up with all the family at a Mexican food place for an early supper then back to the house to watch a game on the giant TV in the basement. In the end the men were downstairs and we we stayed upstairs and it was a chance for me to get to know the women of Kelly's family a little better. They are such a lot of fun and have all been so good to Alexander and adopted him into their family for which I am very grateful.
