A little trip to Covent Garden

After a fun time at Comic Con, Chris, the girls and myself went to Covent Garden for a little look around. Its such a lovely area but it was soooo busy! I will go again on my own on a weekday with no-one waiting for me to finish browsing (When exactly is that?) I have lots of ideas for trips for the school holidays and also for September when it is a little quieter.

Comic Con London 2011

We had so much fun on the weekend, embracing our inner nerdiness travelling to Earls Court to visit Comic Con. We met various people, took a lot of photos, heard some talks and saw a lot of people dressed up like their favourite film characters. Its the second time I have been and I was very sad that I didn't see Darth Vader this time. Oh well there's always next year!!!!

A Burley Ice Cream

One of the sure signs of Summer in these parts is going to Burley a lovely village in the New Forest and having an ice-cream from a stall outside the shop called The Magpies Nest. Oh how the family love them. We did that a week ago and we also put out (rather late for us I might add) the garden furniture. It has rained almost ever since so sorry everyone I think we jinxed Summer!

Making a Vintage Wedding

Although Teri and Nathan did a lot of hard work and organizing for their lovely wedding, they also had quite a bit of family help. Teri's mum baked the wedding cupcakes and did the flower arrangements and bridesmaids bouquets. Her Dad made the chalk boards with her, her sisters helped her make the bunting and friends helped make her invitations. I only really made the place name cards but we all helped set up and clear up. Here are a few photos to show how simple it is to make a wedding so beautiful.

My Dad made these flower stands many year's ago

Chalk boards added a lovely vintage touch

Cupcakes galore they tasted wonderful, made by Teri's mum

The tables were kept simple yet tasteful
